Select Environmental Services is an independent waste management, recycling and hygiene specialist.

Operating from south Reading, Berkshire, we are ideally located to deliver a fast and professional service to our clients across the Thames Valley and surrounding areas.

As well as being home to our modern fleet of fuel efficient specialist vehicles which feature the latest satellite tracking and communications technology; our operating centre also functions as a licensed storage and transfer facility for a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams and recyclate.

Select is a customer-focused service provider with a proven track record delivering high quality, legally compliant and value-for-money solutions. In addition to managing the environmental requirements of our own customer base we also partner leading facility management companies and waste brokers with single and multi-site contracts.

innovation in waste management

When it comes to innovation, Select is a market leader. In 1998 we were the first waste management contractor in the Thames Valley to offer commercial, co-mingled (dry mixed) recycling collections, utilising automated sorting technology, and in 2007 we introduced a satellite-linked, dynamic weighing and container identification system (pay-by-weight) to our trade waste and recycling services, a first of its type for the UK.

In November 2009, we purchased our first mobile document shredding vehicle to provide a higher level of security for clients producing confidential waste and our latest venture is our commercial food waste recycling service that utilises anaerobic digestion technology to produce green energy from discarded food.
