The Asbestos Regulations 2006 enforce businesses to manage their abestos waste. On the HSE government website there is comprehensive guidance on how to identitfy and mange your asbestos waste.
There are three main types of asbestos that has been used commercially over the years:
- Chrysotile (white)
- Amosite (brown)
- Crocidolite (blue)
The Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005 enforce that the disposal of absestos should be done so by a compliant contractor. Asbestos waste should be double-bagged in heavy duty polythene bags and clearly labelled with the label prescribed for asbestos before it is transported to a disposal site. The waste can only be disposed of at a site licensed to receive it. Select Environmental Services Limited has all the compliant sacks, containers, transportation and certification to dispose of your asbestos waste.
